I recently completed the Product Management & Agentic AI Diploma from IIT Patna in collaboration with Masai — and honestly, it has changed the way I look at my own profession.
As a finance professional, I have always worked with numbers, models, and decisions. AI was never far from my mind — I could see it creeping into forecasting tools, risk models, and automated reporting. But I never had a structured way to think about where it was all heading and more importantly, what I could do about it.
This course gave me that framework.
Why I Enrolled
Finance and AI were always going to collide. The question was never if — it was how fast and who would be ready. I wanted to be on the right side of that shift. When I came across this programme backed by IIT Patna, the credibility was clear. The curriculum covering both Product Thinking and Agentic AI felt exactly like the intersection I was looking for.
What Stood Out
What surprised me most was the concept of Agentic AI — AI systems that don’t just respond to prompts but actually take actions, make decisions, and complete multi-step tasks autonomously. For a finance professional, the implications are enormous. Think AI agents that can monitor portfolios, flag compliance risks, reconcile accounts, or prepare board-level reports — without waiting for a human to trigger each step.
The PM component taught me to think about these tools not just as technology but as products — with users, workflows, pain points, and outcomes. That shift in mindset from “what can AI do” to “what problem should it solve and for whom” was the most valuable thing I took away.
What It Means for Finance
AI is not going to replace finance professionals. But finance professionals who understand AI will replace those who don’t. The real opportunity is not in automating what already exists — it is in reimagining how financial decisions get made, communicated, and acted upon.
This diploma helped me see that clearly for the first time.
